Pico Passes 2017-2018
Pico released their pass pricing for 2017-2018.
As per usual it is a decent value. $399 for Adults, $189 for the kiddos.
I wonder if Killinton is waiting to see what Stowe does before releasing?

Re: Pico Passes 2017-2018
It makes sense as it is a different crowd(Pico) to release the pricing at will and to hold the Killington pricing as long as possible, If i were them, I would hold until the deal was done at Stowe, unless it is way to late. I was discussing this yesterday with another member and I think the least they should do, although it wouldn't be a huge win, is to make the pass valid at all Powdr resorts. This would at least show some sense of added value next season if they in fact have to compete with the less expensive Epic.

I sense cheap passes and $10 beers, $20 parking, $5 candy bars and $100 waffles.

Interesting to note that the Max Pass can be added on to the Pico pass for next winter. Not a bad deal at all really.

Re: Pico Passes 2017-2018
Wouldn't you want PWDR and Killington to also aggressively "own" the spring ski news and create buzz, and simultaneously announce:
1. Aggressive season pass pricing around $800-900 (?)
2. Symbolic groundbreaking on early stage Village land preparation
3. Couple of million $ on lift upgrades or installation (south ridge) and lodges for Dec. 2017
4. And let's not forget about New Mulch! (Highway Star, we/I miss ya!)
5. '16-17 Season extends through May!
6. Women's World Cup returns in Nov. 2017
7. Mike Solimano posts some kind of announcement on KillingtonZone and gets some buzz going
Give us a reason to buy a Killington vs. all the other pass options!
Otherwise, Stowe/Vail East is gonna hog the limelight and buzz, and Killington will be reacting, and play catch up. "The Beast owns the EAST!"

Killington has been waiting to see what Pico would do before announcing pass prices. They haven't wanted to tip their hat to the competition.

Re: Pico Passes 2017-2018
So... if they sell at least another 15k Epic Passes due to the Stowe purchase or other reasons, that's a cool $571,235,000.00 (At early purchase prices) to start next years operations with. I'm guessing they can afford a little new infrastructure on that!skiadikt wrote:they sold 650,000 epic passes for this season, up from 500,000 last season. they are printing money.apresski wrote:Full unrestricted Epic Pass for all Vail Resorts for 2017-2018 is $859!
They are most definitely printing money.
