Sugarbush is going with RFID
Along with 2 new beginner quads, regrading, new snowmaking pipe and a new groomer, Sugarbush is going to have RFID lift tickets this year.

Re: Sugarbush is going with RFID
Meh....New mulch and something for the people buying condos with little kids.
Great hill though - very overcrowded on powder days and Saturdays.
Still glad we chose K.

RFID would be a total disaster at Killington, IMO. I think it is a good idea, but would require a lot to make it work well without causing throughput issues and dissatisfied customers. I know how to use it and still find it frustrating at times.

Re: Sugarbush is going with RFID
The RFID system used at the Vail Resorts works well. They use hand scanners. They just wave them in front of the skier and get an immediate reading. Pass can be in an inside pocket. MUCH faster than trying to read a bar code. No unmanned automatic gates like some systems. Scanners at each lift are used for the EpicMix system, but are not used to check pass and allow use of the lift.

This might work at Killington and would require less $$$ to implement. Could speed up the lines.PinnacleJim wrote:The RFID system used at the Vail Resorts works well. They use hand scanners.
