Annnnd Trump continues his streak of being unable to strike a deal with anyone in international relations...

Still time before Trump's completely arbitrary and ridiculously short-notice deadline, so we shall see.

One day after US and Mexican negotiators failed to reach a deal to prevent punitive US tariffs from going into effect over border security, Mexican soldiers, armed police and migration officials blocked hundreds of migrants after they crossed into Mexico from Guatemala in a caravan on Wednesday.

According to Reuters, the response from Mexico marks a major step in compliance with President Trump's demands that the country halt the flow of illegal immigration, primarily from Central America, in order to avoid 5% tariffs which are set to begin on Monday. According to the report, and INM officials told Reuters that migrants were being asked to show papers to show their status in Mexico.

The operation in Chiapas coincided with a meeting of Mexican and U.S. officials at the White House on Wednesday to thrash out a deal that would avoid blanket tariffs on Mexico threatened by U.S. President Donald Trump last week. -Reuters

Friday, still no deal. You know what's no longer in the news cycle though? Mueller and impeachment talk.

Mission accomplished, orange man.

It would appear that Trump's tariff threat worked.

"I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico," President Trump tweeted Friday.

"The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended."

Because Mexico has no reason to play Trump. Trumps has always had nice things to say about our neighbors to the south.

The truth is, they cannot handle the truth. It's nice to see Africa coming in from below. Venezuela and the usual suspects.

ICE or Homeland is sending hundreds of people from the Congo into San Antonio. It's time to bump the Zombloa thread (a cross behind a Zombie and a Ebolla). The Walking Dead have rights too.

Damn Global warming. :barebutt:    :violin :cool

Slave traders are busy in Central America. Provide needed labor to keep the Republican's economy going. Democrats get most of the votes. Trump and large portion of the population would like to see this crazy system fixed. Means testing would really tip the scales more toward the elephant. Current system favors the donkeys. Trump will not leave this issue on the back burner. Screw the wall just put down landmines. That will stem the flow.
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine.

"It's easier for Trump to deal with Mexico than it is to deal with the Democrats" (or words to that effect)

And the rest of the world run by gangs and tribes.

Labor and Votes, yep. The Dems get to perpetuate the welfare state.

Land Mines would help. Also, a no mans land like between North and South Korea.

We're running out of money we don't have. Even if we had it why should we take care of people who can't take care of themselves :?: Sad but true.

As more details emerge it’s clear the “Mexico deal” amounts to a little more than nothing.
