Do you have info that they did anything illegal or did you have stock in the market that you didn't sell?
As for me, I’m long and bought more stock.
Edit: My $02 is congress should not be able to trade equities given their positions. Index and mutual funds would be fine.

Re: COVID-19
Congress passed its own insider trading rules several years ago. Burr was one of only three (I believe) senators to vote against it. I read somewhere that Loeffler’s husband is president or chair of the company that owns the NYSE so she and her husband are subject to both Congressional rules and SEC rules. Either way, their actions in this context, when others are suffering so much pain, will look bad to many voters.madhatter wrote:is there ANYTHING you won't whine and cry about?XtremeJibber2001 wrote:I’m not privy to insider information. If even Tucker Carlson is calling Burr's actions shady, then yeah it probably is worth looking into.

Less than 48 hours since he said he wouldn't invoke it yet, but today he confirm he invoked it yesterday ... guess things turned worst case scenario pretty quickly.XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Except he went to the trouble of crawling under the car to get the spare and is now driving around with it in the passenger seat just in case.SnoBrdr wrote:It's like carrying a spare time.XtremeJibber2001 wrote:He doesn't think it needs to be invoked yet ... what's your interpretation?SnoBrdr wrote:What in that statement don't you understand?

Trump said he wouldn't invoke Defense Production Act on Wednesday, despite the critical need for masks and testing machines. Last night he invokes it for masks and testing machines. What specifically went from zero to oh sh*t?SnoBrdr wrote:Isn't that what happens in a pandemic?XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Less than 48 hours since he said he wouldn't invoke it yet, but today he confirm he invoked it yesterday ... guess things turned worst case scenario pretty quickly.XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Except he went to the trouble of crawling under the car to get the spare and is now driving around with it in the passenger seat just in case.SnoBrdr wrote:It's like carrying a spare time.XtremeJibber2001 wrote:

Maybe it's something that we aren't privy to.
Or he just changed his mind.

I'm not sure what you imagine didn't happen between wed and thursday? or if you have any idea how the DPA might work? pretty sure that despite not taking time to inform you of their every move, talks are taking place every minute in order to exact a plan...if/when that plan requires the DPA to be invoked it will...it's not a magic wand...
seems like we have suppliers ready and able to supply n95 respirators etc and it's likely that they are being paid for via DPA agreements...
pretty sure that local businesses ( construction etc) have been donating them also...
regardless, GM isn't turning out ventilators this morning...and it's likely that by the time they would be able to re-tool and start production the crisis will be over...
there apparently has been a coordinated effort to identify the location of respirators and to get them distributed and ready for service...
pretty sure the wife read that dartmouth hospital replaced a lot of them recently and still has all the old ones in storage...
