it's not being prescribed without a DR and the same "side effects" have been possible since the drug was first approved for use..."What disturbed me the most was when I was seeing not political officials say these medications are safe but seeing on the news cardiologists and infectious disease specialists say" hydroxychloroquine "is completely safe without even mentioning this rare side effect," Ackerman said in an interview.
"That's inexcusable," he added.
what's inexcusable is that anyone would find this NBC article to be "informative"...just more orangeman bad stupidity...
thanks for posting...

Re: COVID-19
Hydroxychloroquine has not been through a clinical trial for treatment of COVID. The side effects for COVID patients may not be the same as those with Lupus, etc. This is one of many reasons the burden of proof is so high from the FDA when companies want to extend a previously approved drug to cover a new indication.Bubba wrote:Meanwhile, from the Mayo Clinic....

Trump's assertion "It can help them, but it's not going to hurt them." is undeniably reckless and misleading.
Re: COVID-19
it has been approved for covid use under certain guidelines and is only prescribed by a dr...your stupidity here is the only thing that is "undeniably reckless and misleading."XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Hydroxychloroquine has not been through a clinical trial for treatment of COVID. Trump's assertion "It can help them, but it's not going to hurt them." trump also said you need to ask your dr...
I mean you could just look all this up for yourself, but you gotta do what they tell you...cuz yer a (barely) useful idiot...

Undeniable? How about incomplete? How about agenda driven? How about lacking context? Have you ever heard the full, unedited quote?XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Hydroxychloroquine has not been through a clinical trial for treatment of COVID. Trump's assertion "It can help them, but it's not going to hurt them." is undeniably reckless and misleading.
Because I've listened to several of the afternoon press conferences while working, and I have always heard that prefaced by "If someone is in serious deteriorating condition, who is under a doctor's supervision and wants to try it, why not let him? ... Right to try." (Paraphrasing as Trumps style is far more repetitive and full of easily mis-attributed pronouns.)
'Right to try' has been a hallmark of Trump's approach to this, and other emerging promising new drugs when faced with a terminal alternative. You really need to expand your news feed.
Re: COVID-19
it's not his news feed, it's the filter he applies to it...he's not really a dumb guy, he's just uninterested unless it can support "orange man bad" theology...which is rather dumb I suppose...Mister Moose wrote:Undeniable? Speaker 19: (01:07:21)
Thank you, sir. I wanted to do a follow up on the hydroxy question. Thanks for the numbers. Has there been any tension with the medical staff on that? Are they in agreement with [crosstalk 01:07:30]?
Donald Trump: (01:07:31)
Yeah, we discussed it with the staff. We discussed it with FDA. FDA approved it, so… Which is another point. I mean, it’s been approved by FDA, which is very important. If it wasn’t an approved by FDA, then I couldn’t do this. But FDA’s approved it, the hydroxy.
Speaker 19: (01:07:46)
And also, if this turns out not to work, are hospitals and doctors going to be exculpatory from the federal government under the Right to Try?
Donald Trump: (01:07:56)
Well, we’ll see if it works. No, it’s not going to hurt people. It can help them, but it’s not going to hurt them. That’s the beauty of it. You see? It can help them, but it’s not going to hurt them. What do you have to lose? Okay. Question you had in the back, please.

and?Repeated briefings were held through December across the US government, including the National Security Council, culminating in a detailed outline of the threat in the President's Daily Brief in early January, according to ABC News, whose report cited four sources briefed on the matter.
The report, which CNN has not independently verified, raised concerns because of the disease's potential threat to US military forces in Asia, ABC News reported.
