My boyfriend’s mother was fully vaccinated when she caught covid from a visitor to her home. She is now in ICU and doctors are not optimistic about her recovery. She has many co-morbidities and probably did not develop a robust immunity response from the vaccine. Vaccinated people still get sick and some die.

Unfortunately the vaccines are not 100%, but they still are our best tool to put Covid in the rear view mirror. This illustrates why it is important for as many people as possible to get vaccinated. Prayers that she recovers.

Exactly what I mentioned earlier. Understanding of the virus evolved over time. Fauci's original recommendation was based on limited knowledge, which he told you. When the scientific community learned more, the guidance was updated.

As to whether Biden or Trump wears a mask or not, what credibility do they have? Neither hold medical degrees, and neither are professionals in the medical world. Both have incentive to say or do things for political gain. Don't listen to them. Listen to the doctors. The rest is drama.

The best part of this thread is reading how a confirmed hard-liner Trumper actually got the vaccine !! There is hope.

My man is responsible for the vaccine so why would I not take it?

Trump is not 100% responsible for the development of the vaccines, but he does deserve his fair share of credit for operation warp speed. It could have been a great victory lap for him. With that said, why is he not taking it and why are trump supporters among the most hesitant groups to get vaccinated? It makes no sense.

wasn't trump vaccinated in december or january? wasn't there a whole media hoopla (rightfully) criticizing him for not publicizing to his supporters that he got vaccinated?
