Can anyone think of an unusual change in the status quo that could have contributed to this increase – beyond the fraudulent election that only impacted the presidential race in certain blue state counties?

Vermont makes Covid testing available to all schools.

Interesting article, still trying to make sense of this statement......."Students who are close contacts of a classmate or teacher who tests positive for COVID-19 will be able to test out of quarantine more easily and continue attending school while in quarantine as long as they have no symptoms."??????Bubba wrote: ↑Oct 1st, '21, 17:22 Vermont makes Covid testing available to all schools.

Um, Covid won't go away just because you stop testing for it. Reality is what it is not what you want it to be.

Re: Time to End Covid Testing
You are right, Covid wouldn't physically go away if testing was to be stopped, just the hype surrounding the number of cases that are continually broadcast to the masses. Cases mean far less than they did at the onset of this debacle but yet that seems to be the focus lately because deaths, mortality rates and ICU visits continue to decline at a rapid rate.easyrider16 wrote: ↑Oct 4th, '21, 08:17Um, Covid won't go away just because you stop testing for it. .

When you made your original post, the 7-day COVID death average was 252. Today the 7-day COVID death average is 1,808.Fancypants wrote: ↑Oct 5th, '21, 20:49You are right, Covid wouldn't physically go away if testing was to be stopped, just the hype surrounding the number of cases that are continually broadcast to the masses. Is your point that, if everyone just stopped talking about it, ignorance is bliss?

Re: Time to End Covid Testing
You would also be throwing away one of the best tools we have to control the spread of the virus. As for mortality rates and ICU visits, in places where people get the vaccine they have declined. In other places like Alaska and Alabama you've seen huge spikes in ICU visits in early September. As for the "hype" going away if you eliminate testing, even if you had zero testing, you'd still have stories about overwhelmed ICUs and death statistics. Even if it did help calm the "hype" It seems like a poor trade off to get rid of an important tool.Fancypants wrote: ↑Oct 5th, '21, 20:49 You are right, Covid wouldn't physically go away if testing was to be stopped, just the hype surrounding the number of cases that are continually broadcast to the masses. In a way yes. No information from the media is sometimes a much better alternative to their misinformation especially when it's spread with intent.XtremeJibber2001 wrote: ↑Oct 6th, '21, 04:50When you made your original post, the 7-day COVID death average was 252. What is the specific misinformation they're spreading and what support do you have to demonstrate intent?Fancypants wrote: ↑Oct 6th, '21, 20:55In a way yes. Right, let's just shut down the media. First amendment rights are overrated.Fancypants wrote: ↑Oct 6th, '21, 20:55 In a way yes. No information from the media is sometimes a much better alternative to their misinformation especially when it's spread with intent.
I'm curious, Fancypants, where do you get your news? What sources do you trust the most?
Re: Time to End Covid Testing
We may be nearing the point where institutions should stop testing asymptomatic vaccinated people. I don't know how widespread this is but I know some schools colleges workplaces etc are still doing pool testing.
Pretty soon the vaccinated are going to be done with doing things to protect the nitwits who go unvaccinated.
