New Zealand To Outlaw Smoking for Next Generation, What About the US?
I would support this in the US. If you are born after lets say 1/1/2022 you will never be allowed to buy tobacco products.
"I want my children to have the right to smoke" is really taking all of your nonsense too far if that is how you feel.

Slippery slope. What else could be banned next? Obesity is a far bigger issue in this country today than smoking related illnesses.
I'm fine with a 21 year old age restriction.

We should update it to age 25. The actuarial tables show that we do not fully develop our brain until then.deadheadskier wrote: ↑Dec 11th, '21, 14:10 Slippery slope. What else could be banned next? Obesity is a far bigger issue in this country today than smoking related illnesses.

Some go far beyond 25, if ever.Dickc wrote: ↑Dec 11th, '21, 17:00We should update it to age 25. Because it has worked so well for illegal drugs and alcohol (prohibition was 100 years ago)

Age is mandatory; maturity is optional.Dickc wrote: ↑Dec 11th, '21, 20:57Speaking for yourself????Bubba wrote: ↑Dec 11th, '21, 19:11Some go far beyond 25, if ever.Dickc wrote: ↑Dec 11th, '21, 17:00We should update it to age 25. You should be able to do whatever you want on your own property so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, including smoking. If you want to ban it in public places, have at it.

Public. Every other developed country in the world besides the U.S. has public health care.
I assume where you're going with that is, if they have public health care, they have an interest in keeping people from smoking. There's something to that, but I would argue the solution is some sort of surtax on smoking.

First smoked tobacco at age 7 as we wanted to act growen-up. Found weed by age 11 and it has been keeping me young ever since.
