Boston North End Restaurant Recommendations?

Post by Bubba »

Hey Boston folks. What are your favorite North End Italian restaurants? Need recommendations for a weeknight dinner. Lucca and Bricco have already been recommended. Thoughts on those? Others? Thanks.

You pretty much can't go wrong in the North End. We have had good experiences at Massiminos and others whose names escape me.

I second this - great location too! I'd uber or cab there, or maybe walk - parking impossible in North End! You’ll get towed if you are an inch in the wrong place!

Chose Mamma Maria. Numero uno on Trip Advisor and highly recommended on KZone. Can’t do better than that. Delicious dinner within walking distance of hotel. Excellent wine list as well.

Café Vittoria on Hanover street for dessert and coffee. If you're ever there around lunch time, across the street from Café Vittoria is a place called Umberto's that's been there for decades. It's an old time Italian place with old metal tables and chairs that serves pizza, calzones and arancini's on paper plates from a walk up counter. They serve cheap wine in paper cups that somehow taste good. There's a line at the door before they open and they close around 1 pm once they sell out everything. Both places have an old school North End Vibe.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I’ve spent plenty of time in NYC Little Italy in my life but precious little in Boston’s North End. Can’t go wrong in either.

What did you choose to eat? I looked at the menu and there were lots of interesting choices.
