Funniest thing is ABC 10 in Albany apparently picked up the story thinking it was real. It was posted to their website but later removed.

I remember seeing a picture of a sign for I think the old Killington gondola that read something like "open until YOU quit" the current k1 might as well run 365 days per year, it probably only misses about one or 2 months total where it's not running.
