As one who uses the NYS Thruway frequently, i have watched the slow rebuild of these travel stops. Its taken years to re-build them. Having a place not open on Sundays is quite ridiculous. NYS continues its slow decline.

What do you mean slow? Upstate NY has been in a steady, decades long decline for the past 70-80 years. Most of it is nothing short of an economic wasteland on par with West Virginia appalachia.

I stopped in one morning at 7:45am for breakfast....guess what? They don't open until 8am for breakfast. Didn't wait and continued my trek to K.

The closed-on Sunday thing does seem as if it would be disqualifying for highway rest stop locations.

I don't get the hype on Chik Fil A. It's an average chicken sandwich. Healthy low fat concerns aside, I like Popeye's sandwich better.

I just don't understand the craziness around that place and those freakin tiny chicken sandwiches? Don't really care if they're in the rest areas. I never really eat anything in there anyway. It's just a piss stop for us and the pooch...

think on average they are cleaner than most other fast food spots and they seem to have hit the nail on the head with their customer service… I’m sure that plays a part.

Agree the sandwich is not much better than other fast food chicken sandwich options…. And I’m not a fan of the waffle fries as compared to normal cut French fries.

Never undestood the whole chick-fil-a thing either. Any time i pass one there are cars lined up like they were giving out $500 bills. I think it's heard mentality.

Greater Boston area had those lines when they first opened but the novelty seems to have worn off. Now it seems like any other spot. My kids really like it so we stop with some moderate frequency, but I agree it’s just a fast food chicken sandwich.

Are they now in or out of favor with the deplorables? I can never keep up.

I liked Chick-fil-A down south. When it wasn't up here. Ran out to Buffalo to get a loader. Took the day cab Peterbilt. Second driver. Tanks were topped off. No reason to stop. Skeezey rest plazas. NY is screwed. I can't carry in NY. Watch out for lot lizards.
