Short day, vis almost non-existant! Upper Bitter the best I've seen - tricky getting there! Bluebird skies now - hope those out later enjoyed!

Another good day out there, almost everything skied well. Bear Claw, with its fresh coat of snow was shockingly good, since I had dim expectations after yesterday’s tower shower. The finally open, buffed, and groomed Upper Bittersweet, with a gauntlet of guns preceding its entrance from GE, was also nice. Highline was still great, even if requiring a bit more effort than I felt like giving. It now has guns T2B skiers right. Can’t help be frustrated with the lavish attention bestowed on that trail while others languish. Lower East Fall was fast and firm, but edgeable; even if you hate it in that state, at least it’s over quick. Supe top to bottom was similar, but its lack of sun this time of year, doubles the challenge for me. Is there a time of day when lower Superstar gets sun this time of year?

Also saw guns on the top half of Easy Street, and the Viper Pit bypass, Anti-Venom. Both might be ready by Saturday, assuming the temperatures continue to drop. The lower humidity should help with production, too. Nothing on the GE to Bearly loop yet. Baby steps.

anything on needles as the report says. on the other hand, while the snow reporter says upper bitter is open & groomed, listed as closed on the lift & trail report  .

I forgot I took some pictures because it was such a pretty day.

Skiadkt, I don't recall seeing any snowmaking on Needles when I rode Stage 2. Pretty sure I'd have noticed that.

Looks much better than P-okemo-n. Lots of flat and fast today. They opened Sel's Choice today, after making snow on it Monday. That's their signature bump run. It too was groomed flat and fast. I get the feeling Okemo doesn't open trails while snowmaking is in progress. They could've easily opened Sel's under the guns and let it bump up a bit. They also recently made snow on Upper Chief and have partially groomed sections of it, but it too is still closed.

Rotd for me was Rime to LEF just before noon. Glad to finally be out here skiing rather than just reading about it!

That's a Vail thing... they tried that sown here but ops told them that we have to make snow whenever there are temps open or closed

Such a shame that multiple trails sat closed for several days with more than enough snow to ski ungroomed.

Afternoon Report: Pretty decent with the sun shining and great viz. LOTS of peeps out there, especially on Snowdon [College week?].

Abysmal lift line management at the bubble. Guessing the long line [corral full, 4 lanes] down there was due to a shutdown as no line to speak of later. Butt, there was one of the Jamaican lifties trying to restore some order with zero success. There were two singles lines and one Fast Tracks line on the left. People were ducking under the ropes moving from the singles line to the FT line [they need a fence there like at Supe]. Then we discovered that one [of two; why do they need two?] of the Fast Track turnstiles was fully open, so others were just skiing into that lane. Plenty of pissed off people for that lift line wait.

ROTD: Full House -> Highline. Several choices of lines with mostly very dry snow coming from the guns [a bit wetter down low]. Multiple laps.

WROTD: Upper Royal Flush. Not sure why they opened it with a few inches of dry "pow" on top of nothing. Not a do-over.

LEF - Flat and fast, with edgeable / skiable beach sand sluff after the start.

Bear run was very good though very flat. 1st half of viper pit still very icy and plenty of carnage down below.

Cruise Control very good and worth a repeat. Gotta watch out on right side, shortly down the main pitch as the cover goes away quickly there.

Upper / Lower Bitter OK with small Chunky Monkey in play.

Thought there were very few guns going on such a cold day [was 10-15 degrees colder at the mountain than in the valley]. Highline TTB right, Anti-Venom, and a few spot guns were all I saw.

Definitely not a Hunter thing. I skied under the guns all day on Friday.
