So the Christofascists have struck again. Frozen embryos from IVF clinics are now "people" and Drs who dispose of surplus embryos can be charged with murder. The chief justice of the Alabama supreme court said that this decision was based on the bible, not the law. Not my bible (Life by Keith Richards). Disgusting!

I was afraid the decision overturning Roe would fade into the background after a while. But these ultra conservative justices and politicians just keep pushing it right to the forefront. Here's to hoping the GOP gets punished for it in the upcoming election in the same way they've been punished in all the special elections. We need to vanquish this MAGA bullsh!t where it matters, at the ballot box, so everyone can see how bankrupt it is.

The Chief Justice did not write the decision but concurred with his additional commentary that was biblical in nature and irrelevant to the actual legal decision. Other than allowing trans people to compete in various sports, has there been any law / rule created by or for LGBTQ folks that have impacted the lives of Christians? No, they're only interested in creating a world where they receive equal rights as straight people.
Why must Christians constantly try and legislate from the pulpit? And many of these hypocritical jerks scream and warn of Sharia law coming to the USA.

They don't know what their own book says. When asked about governmental issues Jesus said things like "render unto Caesar" and when he saw that his followers wanted to make him king and rebel against Rome, he went and hid himself and refused to take that role. If you believe in Jesus and his miracles, do you think he couldn't have taken that role and established a theocracy on Earth? He could have, but that's not what he did, and not what his apostles preached. The apostle Paul said that Christians should submit to the governing authority, and whoever rebels against that authority rebels against God. Peter wrote that Christians should be subject to every governing authority, including the emperor.
Christ charged his followers with a simple mission - spread the gospel. All these attempts at legislating morality do not help with that goal, and arguably interfere with it. The present day religious right-wingers are not about following the teachings of Christ, they are about gaining power over other people so they can tell them what to do. That's not the cause of Christ, it's the cause of despotism.
