We can speculate all we want which does no good. It sucks some of the cabins are unloadable but I mean would u rather ride a ropetow from the skyeship base? You guys spend your $$$ at a business and you don't have to spend it at places you see problems at. There are many other ski areas around, go there!
Love it or leave it. A truly counterproductive perspective.

The fastest way to guarantee any business will go downhill is to insist that nobody complain, nobody criticize, and anybody with an issue should just shut up or go somewhere else.

Have you always been so invested in believing you are morally superior to everybody around you?

I do not feel morally superior to anyone , I just get Tired of the constant bitching and complaining on this site . There is a sign on the wall of McSorley’s ale house
In N Y C , that says “ I once complained I had no shoes until I met a man that had no feet “ we get to ski a lot really not much to bitch about

Longer drive, butt Bolton is at 217" or 100% for the season to date. Good luck selling with almost a dozen other MG units on the market.https://www.americanwx.com/bb/topic/596 ... /#comments

Meanwhile at Sunday River....

Hundreds of people evacuated by rope after ski lift malfunction at Maine ski resort

NEWRY, Maine (WMTW) - More than 200 people were evacuated by rope after the Aurora Quad ski lift at Sunday River malfunctioned Thursday morning.

Resort officials tell Maine’s Total Coverage that the lift operator noticed a mechanical issue at 11:09 a.m. and stopped the lift.

Within 10 minutes, Sunday River Patrol, with lift operators and Mountain Hosts, started a rope evacuation of people from the chairlift.

I like it, but it has always surprised me that it is not more popular and I haven't actually used it in many years. I think they will maintain it for many decades.

Abandon Skyeship? Ridiculous. Killington should double down and figure out how to turn the new water line route into a ski trail.

skyeship and needles eye seem like missed opportunities for mountain biking in the summer. although i think weve sacrificed enough good tree runs over at snowdon and ramshead maybe they can find some lines that dont destroy the trees.

skyeship is too important of an access point to get rid of. i dont see it happening.

It is extremely expensive to expand lift serviced MTB. I'm amazed that they actually get a ROI on running the 3 that they do. I do think trails running down to RT4 would probably be some of the best on the mountain if I had to guess though. Thinking about bombing down Home Stretch the whole way down no need to even go off trail really.

They had a mountain bike trail down great eastern through the early 00's that ran in the fall when they ran skyeship for foliage.

As I said earlier, there are already MTB trails through needles eye and even bear. They are accessed via K1 gondola and drain into the snowshed area.

K has the biggest MTB footprint of any lift-serve mountain in the Northeast USA. They don't need to expand further at this point. As to ROI, the MTB at K is a profitable stand alone business apart from skiing. If you're at K during the summer it's not hard to see - the place is way busier than it's ever been. It's even transformed the access road, as all those restaurants that used to close when ski season ended are now almost all open year round.
