Will Killington drop The Beast moniker?

Post by skibikeclimbguy »

They are clearly no longer The Beast and their operations lately are distinctly not Beastly. As other mountains surge ahead in almost all categories, it’s comical they they still use it.

Has Mike been neutered by POWDR? Is Tait just incompetent? Have they just given up?

Appears Tait is in wayyy over his head.

Mike hasn’t been neutered, but has definitely been been given a vasectomy by POWDR.

90% of this site took the short bus to school.

Literally no one of importance at Killington thinks or cares about anyone here. You make up .01% of clients if that.

But this forum is comical. And that’s why I keep coming here.

I think you're right downdraft, about .01% of 'clients', or customers, being from kzone.

across decades, i've met plenty who read here but don't comment, most for general info in my experience.

it's a dedicated bunch here who pay attention to what's what at K , and this site has an embedded self correcting feature via others chiming in on comments which may be total bs or not, parsing that out. many do actually find it helpful.

The Beast moniker is soooo lame . . . I have never been a fan.

First of all, Killington STOLE it from Berkshire East . . They had used this for many years before POWDR decided to appropriate it.

Secondly, the connotations associated with "The Beast" are scary . . Horrible monsters and devil worshippers. SATAN. I would be surprised if any evangelicals ski at "The Beast"

Third, If you are going to call yourself "The Beast", then you damn well better act like it . . That has not been happening this season . . Quite the opposite

That's like saying that a pollster doesn't think or care about the results of a poll, because the sample is only a fraction of the entire population.

Your short bus snark may have played better, if it wasn't paired with such a stupid statement. But probably not.

Downdraft is just a troll, and K management has proven many times that they care and have reacted many times to issues brought up on kzone.

Berkshire East did use the term a long time ago. But "Beast of the East" by K never seemed unwarranted. It is by far the largest place within reasonable day trip distance of the NYC Metro area. And as long as they continue to shoot for June every year, they remain pretty beastly.

"Howdy Beast fans" is another story. Not sure why I find it so annoying.

"The Beast" moniker is overused by at least half. Killington ran away from the Beast of the East name for years, reasoning that it scared prospective customers away. Then, after they finally decided that "if you can't beat them, join them", they've since beaten it to death. I find it annoying. The 'Howdy" addition just makes it worse.
