Is the crossover open?

Post by Southside_Bobby »

Based on the trail report, I am assuming that the snowshed crossover is officially open this week to allow skiing on Panic, etc. I look forward to today's report confirming that to be true.

Some seasons there isn't enough snow left to allow this. Other seasons there is, but K doesn't want to bother to open it. Kudos if they left it open this year. I find it to be a nice little addition after Needles and Bear are closed.
2014 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift shouldn't be."
2019 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift (operating midweek) shouldn't be."
2023 - Killington announces that the South Ridge lift will run five days a week.
2024 - Killington lied.

thought about it today but figured w yesterdays new snow it could be very sticky and the slog would be painful. i've seen it open and looks covered enough. maybe tomorrow.

Skied panic/needles last run at 2p today. The hard left on the crossover is slow, but still continuous.

when we tried to ski it around 3pm, needles was roped at bittersweet. not sure why. panic/needles itself and the crossover had plenty of snow. it was thin heading towards highlander and highlander itself.

Saw patrol roping it. He said it would be open tomorrow. Said something about an event on it late afternoon.

Pretty bogus, but it was closed late in the day yesterday for some sort of photo shoot with Hannah. In the end, they didn't get the photo shoot off as they didn't round up the other skiers they were looking for AND as they were getting ready there were many others poaching it.

LOL - From what Hannah told me they wanted to shoot her skiing moguls and the only real moguls were Panic / Needle's Eye !

The Beast - King of Spring Groomers.

Time to break out the Stop the Brutal Grooming shirts.
