Nice 180, great shots! Maybe you'll remember - the guy who came up with the 'slow dog noodle'? kind of a one off i think, but it was unique...as was most of that freestyle stuff throughout the 70's. Hannah is killing it, quite proud for another one of Killingtons own, liked hearing Donna was calling the action!

Amazing Saturday for the freestyle world cup.
I coached these three when they were B level athletes going through the KMS/KSC system 2009-2012
Olivia Giaccio, Hannah and Kasey Hogg

I didn't know Olivia was KMS. Does she ever ski SS spring bumps? I've never seen her at K.
Love this video she did with Deb Armstrong. https://youtu.be/vmPKZ2xFTGQ?si=rX672reg5xo7pDaN

That's how you ski bumps. She makes it look easy.

Re: Hannah Soar - Hometown Hero
yesterday while riding we ended up in similar timing and her crew was a ways behind her, hannah was taking an easier run on the smaller bumps formed post grooming and i managed to get directly behind her line and followed it, absolutely made my day that i was able to keep up with an olympic mogul skier (who was just taking a fun cruise run but still!) on a snowboard.... and of course she had a really nice line!

When I do moguls, I feel like I have to go sideways on each bump to control the speed, she's just practically going in a straight line, amazing. I can study her form and sort of understand the technique, but if I tried to copy it, I would be airborne after the 3rd mogul. Very impressive!

Re: Hannah Soar - Hometown Hero
my skiing ability ends at header on a firm day (on 140s ), but on a snowboard its a lot of quick pivots and independent foot movement and pumping speed out of the turns like a skateboarder around a bowl or a surfer on a wave. also, on looser snow (think spring corn mush and fresh pow) i can pressure my tail down to lose speed or flatten it out to gain, without turning. what is alike is line selection and looking ahead, which is why it was so exciting to follow hannah!my poor knees wrote: ↑May 4th, '24, 18:07 When I do moguls, I feel like I have to go sideways on each bump to control the speed, she's just practically going in a straight line, amazing.
