no, its the main trail, just the last steep section. i think it got the name during the GS races when theyre coming in hot, not the slalom which starts lower.

^shiffrin's 2023 GS run, around the :50 mark you can start to hear the crowd get louder as she comes into view of the spectators at the bottom, that section (roughly where the middle ovation exit comes in) to the finish line is prestons pitch.

Cool videos, thanks, hard to tell how they regraded it, they made it steeper or less steep? Why am I not recognizing the old K1 lodge, looks different? Or my memory is worse than I thought, gotta lay off that whacky weed...

youre probably seeing the grand stands that are temporary for the event and not the old lodge. its hard to see in the videos especially since the 2016 one is in flat light but they smoothed out the double fall lines by tower 3 and 4 a little bit. as a result during the spring melt the S used to be a lot more pronounced before the regrade, now its not as obvious.
