Ski house related . . .

Post by MrsG »

. . . well, kind of - I know there is a forum for this subject, but who reads that forum!?!?!

I'm hoping the locals and lurkers here can help us - we just learned that our skihouse for next season has fallen through and we are left looking for something this late in the summer. I'm going to try every avenue possible, hence, my return to this forum - I guess I'm desperate

We need a four bedroom - two bath preferably. We have 3 couples and 2 singles - [6 of whom are KZoners :)]. Please do PM me if you have any suggestions . . . and Admins if you need to move this - so be it, but if you could wait a few days, I would appreciate it!!

I appreciate any reasonable suggestions anyone has to offer!!! Any trash ones, I'll just ignore 8)

Hope you are all enjoying your summer!!!!

Peggy (and that's not an alias!!!)

Bumping - some ideas we've tried have fallen through . . . so, we're back to Square 1 :? :? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hope you're enjoying this great summer . . . and yes, this past weekend of less humidity was great. Let's hope the people in the Midwest will experience the same soon!!

Get ready for some rental ski house sticker shock. The recent 40% increase in VT property taxes and escalation in property values has bumped seasonal rentals. A case in point, a house I rented 2 seasons ago for $7,000 is now on the market for $15,000 with no upgrades. I was in VT looking at places and they are expensive!

Good luck with your search.

I've a 500 gallon tank. Just love getting that $1100 bill three times a year.

summer 02 was much much hotter. 1st summer back from ore-gun. living on the top floor of a 3 story walkup with NO air conditioning. f*** brutal. boston had something like 30 days of 90 degrees or warmer. so far this summer we've only had 7 or 8.

i'm gonna go on record and predict a record warm winter with well below average snowfall for the northeast.

i'll make sure to bump this thread when everyone is bitching about all the warm weather and r*in next january.

4 BR ideas

Post by Powderputz »

Fox Hollow might have some 4 Br units. Pico, also. Check with the Realtors, because some seasonal rental homes prices may have dropped, especially if no one "bit" and rented them out.

Also: don't laugh at Pittsfield. Albeit a 15 minute ride north on 100, still, there are some decent places along 100 N, some just south of Pittsfield.

Many homes are electrically heated--which now that fuel oil has more than doubled, may not be horrendous to consider. I don't know if Vermont utilities have raised their rates comparable to what fuel oil and propane have.

Good luck!

PS: Don't stay at Turn of River--its the BASEMENT and that's not worth it weekend after weekend. Plus Dick (owner?) gets a big holiday crowd...it's just not "atmospheric" down there, in the basement.
