but knowing they already have a permit in hand means changing the layout within the same general footprint won't cost them their permit, just another meeting or two and some additional review.

Sounds simple and hope that is the case, but we are talking about VT here...

Culvert replacement.

I don't think that is the case, what you are talking about is an amendment to the ACT 250 permit which this is not. I'm fairly certain that this is a complete resubmission driven mostly by the revised public roadway layout. I don't think that it will take 7 years like the original filing, but I also don't think that they will have it in 2025 as hoped. We'll see but i think they'll be doing good if they get it within 3 years from now.

"Because Great Gulf is planning for a major change to the permitted village plan, the new plans will now have to be approved by Act 250 — Vermont’s land use/development law.

Sneyd expects to submit the new plans for review in January 2024. Timing from there is “hard to say… I mean, we would love it to take six to nine months.”..."

"The village will be a hub of activity,” said Killington Resort President and CEO Mike Solimano. “Whether it’s something like ice skating or concerts, this will give people in the area a great place to come together and hang out."

Except there's no place to park.

I have all along been a fan of a level snow bridge (Ski beach  ) between Snowshed and RH. If they do that first, I really don't give a rat's ass what else they build there.

Killington Forward is in full swing. Access road work started, pipeline work cranking away, the village design moving ahead, Base Camp at Bear getting started, and just heard from a neighbor who works for Green Moutain Power that there is another sizable development up in Sunrise. Lots of other signs of investment going on as well. Recent record high real estate sale values.

Killington is definitely on the move after decades of languishing. Great to see.

Good article that answers one of my questions. The main concern, however, is the dependence on remote parking and shuttles and that’s going to be an issue for every day and local skier.
