1/2 the competitors in the Olympics shouldn't be there.
Just go to a tiny country with no winter activity and start a ski team of 1. Spend a couple hundred $'s for an outfit and get some used equipment off ebay...

I think it may of been "West" (the ones that were accused of and eventually found guilty of steroid use), but I still don't want to look it up in case there are pictures...they were scary looking is all I can remember!

Just so everyone knows it was the women's 10km individual start skate that was tied for bronze (women, don't have a 50km and there's no more pursuit is XC) But I like the sentiment.
Also on the Nordic front - FIRST GOLD MEDAL EVER!! (Randall & Diggins in the Team Sprint) Okay, its a weird and team event, but this is still a huge deal for the US nordic community, expecailly those of us who know these American XC women directly.

Randall & Diggins
That is truly a breakthrough for US XC !

Mainly due to Hans Brinker breaking his skate ..

From mid 3rd period on, that game was played nearly entirely in Canada's zone.
Those gals were obsessed with their task and played their ponytails off

They usually are. The USA used to be far at the bottom in the Winter Olympics. It's gotten a lot better and they've moved up a lot the last couple Olympics since they added freestyle skiing and snowboarding events. If it wasn't for these events the USA would be just above Liechtenstein!

USA's best athletes for the most part pass on anything snow/cold related.
