Maybe. Iraqi law say's he gotta swing within a month after his last appeal is turned down and both we and the Shiites no doubt want him dead as soon as possible.

But, he's facing a number of other trials and they could concievably decide that those need to be concluded first........

it's unfortunate that his execution will undoubtedly cause the death of many Americans (soldiers AND civilians) and others (iraquis, etc.)

It's unfortunate that Bush's partner in religous fanaticism, Osama bin Laden, will be running around free while Bin Laden's secular enemy, Saddaam Huessin, will be excuted.

Agree completely with the sentiment but if even half of what Hussein's been accused of is true, I won't shed any tears for the POS.

And you have to know that anybody who was on such good terms with Rumsfeld and Cheney has to be dirty.

Today's NYT's quoted some unnamed Iraqi source claiming that they'll hang him by Saturday Iraq time. It's probably just turned Saturday there.

Really no choice there. Once we decided to invade Iraq, Saddam swinging from the gallows was pretty much a foregone conclusion.
