HelmetCam first person view of an accident
Crash!
First let me say this was my fault. He was downhill and had the right of way.
Saturday afternoon. Just downhill of the bowling alley I went ahead to film some zoners. I dropped down and was going to traverse a bit to the right, looked uphill to make sure it was clear but didn't notice that the guy downhill of me had a problem and stopped. By the time I looked back it was too late.
The guy was ok. The zoners stuck around and made sure he was ok- when we left him he was standing with his skis and was going to walk down a bit to a flatter part to put his skis on. I left with a midly sprained left thumb- I'm glad neither one of us was hurt any worse.
Be careful out there- things happen fast...
(and sorry about the audio- I don't know whats going on with my mic)

Are you sure it was your fault? It looks to me like that guy was trying to trip you when you were distracted by looking back uphill and instead in front of you in the downhill direction.

Crash!
Looking around beyond the focus of the video I realize that there are an incredible number of people out there; many of whom probably shouldn't be skiing that level trail. This video pretty much confirms my conviction that I must stay away from K on week-ends or holiday weeks. Retirement these past four years has definitely made my winters incredibly better! If you gotta get older, you gotta have some perks to compensate. Midweek skiing does it for me.
