What's Up for Blackout Days Next Weekend
I'm one of the poor shlobs that got a Bronze Pass and won't be skiing K next week. Most likely gonna head over to Sugarbush, (but I'll still try to make HH, we had fun!) got vouchers at Hannford's for $52. Just wondering what some of you other underprivileged folks will be doing.

Poor Bronze Schlob
With or without my Bronze Pass I wouldn't be near an ASC ski area next week. I value my carcass to highly to expose it to "rubber legged skid skiers" who are out to squeeze every last minute of their very expensive annual ski vacation out of the slopes. The idea of trying to carve a nice line on a trail littered with bodies and marauding, out of control "experts" is chilling to say the least. I will be at a quilt show (Quilting is my wife's passion which keeps her safely home and lets me ski wherever, whenever, and with whomever I want without worrying about "getting a good" room, going to a "nice" dinner, "isn't it getting too cold," or driving the long way because "there are better bathrooms" on that route.) in Hampton VA and then visiting my son's future in-laws for a couple of days in Charlotte NC. I will of course get in a couple of days at K this coming week just before the hoards arrive to wreak their worst on that poor mountain.

My feelings exactly, that's why I decided to go with the Bronze, wouldn't want to be there on those days anyway. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to check out other slopes. I'll be up at Sugarbush one, maybe two days this week end. K on friday. I'm easy to spot, as you know, Andy.
The word I got on MLK week end is it really wasn't that crowded (I wasn't up). Not too sure Presidents week will be any worse than last Saturday. I mean, how many more cars can they fit in? Start shuttling from the Pickle's lot?

I'll be here but I won't be on the hill on Saturday...much too dangerous. Probably be out Sunday and Monday. (Gold pass here, not bronze.)

And you drive all the way from there to Killington each weekend? Must be 45 minuts to an hour each way.andyzee wrote:We found a little Hotel in Lake Bomaseen, that's not bad and really inexpensive. Nah, more like 1/2 an hour, not too bad and like the area. We don't always go to K, this year is an exception, with the great pass prices. Other times we hit the Bush a lot and don't really mind the drive. We like VT scenery when it's all nice and white.Snowjob wrote:And you drive all the way from there to Killington each weekend?
