That big culvert is/was right below the 2 sections of the building. Looks like it overloaded and washed out. OOPS. Is there a truck in the hole in that pic????

From the Rutland Herald, it looks like the newer section of the base lodge collasped. Maybe they can rebuild it so it doesn't stick out into the crossover trail near super star.
Any one here from shortski?
Hope everyone is ok in K and elsewhere.

Jesus. Here's hoping you're all well, especially Shortski.

No "hurricane hype" in Vermont, that's for sure.

They picked a bad year to tear down the Peak Lodge. Then again, this storm might very well have taken care of that for them too.

I wonder if they'll look to provide more full service down at Skyeship Base (i.e. Grill Food).

Let's hope they are well insured. Assuming the KBL is unsalvageable for this season (and it doesn't look very good), I suspect they'll bring in mobile food trucks, and the like. It's a long way down to Skyship Base from there.

For me, Noel's restaurant is the under-appreciated gem on busy days.

Looks like Route 7 south of Rutland will be closed for a while too.

Unbelievable. Does anyone know the conditions of the roads and if it is even possible to get to K today? from some of the photos I've seen online it look like rt 4 is washed out from Rutland and Woodstock.

Doesn't look like it. I thought maybe you'd be able to get there via 100 S (from the North) but it seems like that's closed too...

The state is going to have a BIG job to restore as many of those roads as possible during the remaining ~2 months before winter weather sets in.
