Icebreaker

Post by RossiSkier »

Anybody ever see this movie? I just saw it for the first time last night. It's starting Sean Astin (RUDY), who plays a ski patrol dude at Killington
Image

The fate of an entire ski lodge is in the hands of ski patrol officer Matt Poster (Sean Astin) when a group of terrorists show up at the Killington Ski Resort after a plane carrying their supplies crashes into a nearby mountain. When the inhabitants of the lodge are taken hostage with a stolen nuclear weapon, it's up to Poster to save them, including his girlfriend, from imminent danger.

It's listed as Action/Adventure, but it's more of a Comedy/Science Fiction. It's actually hilarious. They jump out of the K1 gondala, land and just brush them selves off. Sean Astin takes off his skis in the woods and then starts running from a bad guy. Thought that was funny cause when I'm in the woods and I take off my skis, I fall 3 feet into the snow. But Sean Astin ran with his ski boots on through the Killington woods like a track star. Then he was being chased by bad guys, but this time he's on a snowboard going through the woods. He flys through the woods chased by a skier with a machine gun. They both fly through the woods for miles before the bad guy starts messing with his uzi and hits a tree.

This is one of the funniest movies I ever saw. Has some good footage of Killington. Worth a laugh.

I also posted about this movie on the old K-Chat. (I wonder if the back-door is still open to those posts....)

Anyway, at the time I said I do recommend it for any K regular, even though the movie is rubbish. Rossi is right: it is more of a comedy than it is supposed to be. But, still, it is cool to see K on the "silver screen".

And you get to see Sean Astin before his hobbit days. :|

I've seen it a few times when it has played on TV or cable. Pretty far fetched story line but heck you do get to see some K scenery.

I saw this movie on TV once like 4 years ago...wicked funny...I just actually bought a copy on ebay last week.....should be here soon...funniest movie ever (can you feel the sracasm)
all in all a movie that anyone that rides/skis at K should at least see once.....the funniest part is that the word Killington is either printed somewhere in the scene or is spoken.."Not here at KILLINGTON"

There's a copy on eBay right now that I'm going to bid on. Figure I'll watch it and leave in the condo for guests to get a laugh out of.

Andy, it will make you want to jump out of Gondola. They make it look so easy!

DID YOU KNOW THAT SEAN ASTIN (aka Rudy) is the son of:

John Astin (aka Gomez Adams)

and Patty Duke?

Who knew those two were getting busy?

Got the movie, kinda painful to watch, but it is fun seeing K. In one of the first scenes the hero and heroin come out of the Grist Mill
