See the AFC east for 2008. In that year, an 11-5 team did not make the playoffs either. In the NFL there are already 2 wildcard ( and 4 division) playoff teams in each conference... do we really need more spots? are we now going to have a div champ and runner up in each div for a ttl of 8 teams to add that proposed " extra" game? it always sux when a .500 or less team gets to host a playoff game but it happens...sometimes while a much better team in another division watches on tv...
