That's a little junior high school don't you think. Better to ride a bike and get exercise than have a heart attack. That's more important than the socially redeeming value to an adolecent peer group, no?

Thats right, gay
yes it is a good thing 2 get out there and exersize.
but after one gets through the persona of the bike(if bikes can have a persona), a light will shine and all that see you on a city bike will think and say damn that bike sure is gay.

When I first got a mountain bike in the mid-80's all my road riders friends told me I was riding a "gay" bike...

Now they all have to have the coolest bikes, etc...

"gay" is a relative term...

Rossi don't you think it is time for a new avatar? They have chosen a pope so no more need for watching for the smoke signal.

thanks bling!!

but i have thought about this and what i really want to do is road biking.. in fact i'm starting to lean towards cancelling this hybrid and getting one of the pure street bikes with mtn bike handlebars.. they're a little more $$ but my budget for this purchase increased by about 50% today..

i'm going to go for something along the lines of this:

PM, if you want a road bike, I would suggest that you stay away from Aluminum. That is if you plan on any long rides.

Pizzamoose...go 4 a mtn bike and throw on some Street tires

here is a killer "street tire" that I have used when I rode the 5 buro ride.

take your time and think about a mtn bike.

Wow, your budget really increased for this bike. Why are you opting for the mtn bike handlebars?
