King of Beers: Makers of Budweiser, Miller eye global merger

Bud SUCKS. Will they make Miller the same? I know you beer snobs like other products but some appreciate the high volume norm. Oh Woe is Me!

PBR's may be next.

Budweiser hasn't been an American Beer for several years now. Belgian Stella Artois bought it back in 2008.

Bud still sucks, and I truly believe it made me allergic to all Anhiser (sp) Bush beers because that was all we drank in the military. You squibs did not have that problem because you were TRAPPED in your tubes, no beer for you. LOL, I was trapped in mine, but it was Vertical and opened up to Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. Yours was Horizontal and if opened up, the sea poured in. bottoms up my matte, ARGH!

In college, we called them Genny Screamers...because they would scream right out of your butt the next morning. And then there were PBRs, Meister Brau, Milwaukees Best and the worst of all, Black Label. All wicked hangover inducing beers. Butt on a college budget, you had to make do.

I don't see this getting through anti-trust, even if InBev isn't a US company.

There's little likelihood of this deal getting FTC approval without at least some divestiture of assets.

I do not know the details with this deal, but if the holding companies are outside the U.S. can we apply our antitrust laws?

I'm pretty sure we can force divestiture of certain US assets. Not sure what else can be done.
