Only in Connecticut: 7 year felon wins primary in Bridgeport

Joe Ganim went to prison for 7 years for corruption as mayor of Bridgeport. He extorted $500,000 from city contractors. And he gets re-elected back to the very same office??? Granted this is the primary, but in a Democrat city, he's likely to win the general election. John Rowland, ex governor, did a very similar path, and he is currently awaiting sentencing for his second jail term (3 years or so) for federal election law relating to hiding income from work on other's campaigns.
Sigh. When will Connecticut wake up from its nightmare......
