There's been a bunch of chatter about Ted Cruz's psy-ops in Iowa, watch out for more of it in the coming weeks:

Cruz is being used as a splitter to draw support away from Trump. As Cruz fades over the next month, his supporters will be shifted to Rubio.

At first I thought Trump was a sore looser, now it looks like Cruz or his staff played dirty. The Feds need to look at this. Cruz may have won by stealing votes from Carson. Also, his mailing was deceiving.

The MSM hates to cover election fraud. When Trump blows it up, they pig-pile on him about being a sore loser and play Cruz's "Finger on the button" comments at 6:33pm on the nightly news (last night).

This is right at the top of Google news this morning, a Hu-Po opinion piece that is a completely over the top attack:

Spreading a rumor is election fraud? We're going to have to revisit most elections going back to George Washington.

It depends on how planned and calculated it was. If in NH Sander's staffers put out a press release that Cankle had been indicted with fake FBI papers that would be illegal. What about without the papers. Even if not criminal, should the people have a right to know if this "man of god lied"?

Without a doubt, people have a right to know but that does not necessarily make what was done illegal. If it was planned and calculated? No matter.

In the case of Cruz and the Carson rumor, some Cruz people took advantage of Carson saying he was returning to Florida by interpreting that to mean he was dropping out of the race. So? Isn't that what the press does? What if Carson announced he was returning to Florida and the press started saying "this could mean he was dropping out"? Would that be fraud, dirty tricks, or simply the press asking and then interpreting?

Now, to take your example, if the Sanders folks put out a press release that Hillary had been indicted and included fake FBI papers, the crime would probably be the fake Federal papers, not the press release. If they simply spread the rumor that she was about to be indicted, no crime committed.

from what I;ve seen there is far more of a case with this mailer than with the carson drop out thing, though there could be laws specific to the iowa caucuses that make that sort of "tampering" with voters illegal.... I do not know, just raising the possibility that such regulations exist...

here is the mailer, and again it was all I saw there may be more to it, it may be perfectly legal but geraldo said something about illegal use of official looking documents specific to iowa I believe

I wonder how many of Trump's 'reality' TV segments were completed on the first take

While the NH poll gap appears huge, Granite Staters have been known to mislead pundits.
If polls are believable, Rubio did little yesterday, but gained 3 points overnight.
Less is more.

If spreading the rumor was illegal, Facebook would be shut down and go broke. Not going to happen. I do know where a rumor was spread and false documents were presented but nobody was arrested, just fired for reporting unsubstantiated information regarding an Air Force Reserve Pilot's time in service and reporting for that service.

To me ... Cruz just comes off as a slimeball.
Fits the profile of attorney-pol-mud-slinging-do-little senator.

Town meeting last nite demonstrated that Cruz can neither hold a tune or relate a funny story.
Carson seemed to represent as genuine and Rubio did polish up his statistics delivery.

Will Bush and Trump rumble off-stage between segments tonite?
The circus clown car rolls on

I’m sorry, this is so unbelievable. There’s no way six women have been intimate with Ted Cruz
