Yankees have been playing crappy ball for 6 weeks, yet Sox lead is all of 2 games. Tampa Bay is 3.5 back and even the Orioles and Toronto are within striking distance as they bring up the rear. Time for someone to make a move.

Taking 2 of 3 in this weekend series would demonstrate that this Sox team has begun to figure things out.

Devers is going to be a powerhouse for a long time. This kid really knows how to make things happen. What a swing or I should say swings. When you get deep in the playoffs you need some guys who can turn on a 100+ MPH fastball because that's what you're going to see from the relievers. Devers is one of those elite pitchers.

The theme to this season appears to be " it's not how you start , it's how you finish ". So far the Sox are following the script with a little ways to go and the next 5 games will tell the story! The Yanks are also following the same script with the likes of Kevin Maas , oops I mean Aaron Judge's bat and Chapmans relief efforts. You also have to tip your cap to Devers and Benintendi who have helped the Sox win games with their influx of youth and energy that has seemed to constantly lead to victories and just might carry the Sox down the stretch. The real positives here is even with all the trades the Sox made for pitchers they didn't give up these two 20 year old kids that are already paying dividends , no payroll pun intended!
