Best sports city in the country?

Post by f.a.s.t. »

Based on 2015 MLB average attendance for:

Pittsburgh, 30,847
NY Yankees and Mets combined, 71,155
Boston, 35,564

With populations:

Pittsburgh city population: 305,841 and metro area 2.3 million
NYC population: 8.4 million and metro area 20.2 million
Boston city population 654,966 and metro area 4.6 million

As a percentage of population attending MLB games:

Pittsburgh, 10.08% city residents and 1.34% metro area residents
NYC, .847% of city residents and .352% of metro area residents
Boston, 5.43% city residents and .773% of metro area residents

I rest my case.

With only 305k population and declining all the time, Roidburg is going the way of MoTown.

This topic is posed as a question.
This century, the answer is indisputable.

BOSTON

'Best' implies World Titles attributed to that city :like
Using fan base population as a metric is asinine.

Best damn sport fans in the country. Even our four year olds, watched an entire 18 inning game when Marte hit a game winning homer.

Let's see, using pure statistics and simple math of actual and verifiable numbers is asinine. Yea, ok......f.a.s.t. wins again.

Can't expect much more from a family of 4 year olds.
Especially from someone that publicly admits to child neglect.

One-two-three-four-five-six is how I count. That is 6 Lombardi trophies, the most of any team and that is why Sixburgh is The Football Capital of the Universe. f.a.s.t. wins again. Not to mention that f.a.s.t. is the only person on k-zone that currently has two teams holding World Titles. f.a.s.t. wins again.

Cleveland Cavs...........the city that I was born in. Went to a couple of their games when I lived in Sixburgh and they played in Richfield, Ohio 1 1/2 hours away. I do admit that I kind of jumped on their band wagon, but what the heck; this is k-zone and it's amusing to see how the yahoos react. At the same time, I really don't follow or care too much about the NBA. It's all about baseball-football and hockey for me.

Ah yes, the Pittsburgh Cavaliers. Gotcha!!

I too have many recent championships.

Why in the NHL alone, I have 5 recent Stanley Cup Championships.

In MLB, I have 9 or 10 recent titles.

In the NFL, my team(s) have won the last 25 Super Bowls.

I really don't follow the NBA, but if I did, my guys have won the last 47 NBA titles.

It's a great feeling, ain't it?

Just so everyone knows, here are my teams:

Football-Sixburgh Steelers
Baseball-Bucsburgh Pirates and the Cleveland Indians
Hockey-Puckburgh Penguins
Basketball-Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavs

It's a pretty short list and there's nothing wrong with liking more than one team in a sport, especially when you have totally legitimate reasons.

Great idea to list your teams f.a.s.t.

I'll just list the hockey teams that I consider "my teams":

The New York Rangers
The New York Blackhawks
The New York Kings
The New York Penguins

I can't even count my Stanley Cups on 1 hand. Good to be king.....

I suppose defensive hedging may work if that's all you got to stand on.
Lots of pink hats labeled with a NY, P or C on this board.
