I had mentioned this a few months ago when the All-Star ballots had started being cast and think it's not only worth re-mentioning but giving him his own thread ! He was responsible for the current group of Red Sox talent as he drafted them and he also brought a World Series victory to the Red Sox after a long drought . Well now he is trying to replicate this feat with the Chicago Cubs by first drafting and signing all this good young talent as was evidenced by the National League Infield last night and if he is successful and the Cubs get a ring he'll be looked at as one of the best G.M.s ever in the history of MLB. Actually won't it be a hoot if the World series is Red-Sox vs. Cubs ?

I'd be curious to see where the Cubs fall in the Payroll list in the combined list of both leagues?
Ok , Cubbies are #7 overall , LA Dodgers #1, Yanks 2 overall and Redsox #3 overall .

Don't go counting your chickens there. The Bucsburgh Pirates might have a thing or two to say about the Cubs; Pirates (9-2 in last eleven) are rising and just took 2 out of 3 against the sinking Cubs (2-9 in last eleven).

How'd that work out for the Pirates.

Not even a .500 team.

Your predictions fall flat yet again.

Well when you have multiple "teams" in every sport, you may actually win.

He should stick to forebearers stories.

Tito has never lost a WS game.

Notice how almost all the big players/bosses in this series are all former Sox employees.

Theo, Tito, Miller, Lackey, Lester, Rizzo

But let the Cubs actually win something before we declare them the greatest of all time.

Tito's 'son' Lester will test that streak tonite.
Won't be at all surprised to see this go 5 games.

Salazar will be limited at best.
No curve .. that's his kill pitch.
Miller's value is limited when they're behind.

Destiny written all over this series. :like
