Skied today at K, and was day 51. In honor of 51, I present the iconic WWII fighter, the P-51 Mustang. This little gem of an aircraft came about from a request by the British to North American Aviation for them to license build some P-40 Warhawk fighters. North American convinced them to instead order a hastily designed fighter called the P-51 Apache. The British gave it the iconic Mustang name. The original Mustang's had American built Allison engines with no superchargers, so the performance dropped off badly at 15,000. feet. IT was the installation of the British Merlin engine that gave the Mustang the performance that made it famous.

So for our family...

Dad and younger son: 37
Older son: 36
Mom: 31

I really thought we would break the 40 day barrier, but the r*in the past two weekends scared us off and kept us in the flat lands.

It could be a wrap on the season for us, unless I grab one more day with one of the boys when we come up to do spring cleaning on the house.

I agree with some of the other comments elsewhere that it really seemed to wind down quickly once it started going. Hard to believe that it was barely 2 weeks ago that Pico was basically 100% open.
