5:49 am 01/18/17--Get ready, skiers and riders, last night's storm dropped 5 inches of fresh snow! Lifts turn at 9:00 a.m. but you'll want to be here earlier to claim your spot in line for first chair.

Yay!

I'll take it

Only 5 inches? That's what she said....

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

6:13 am 01/24/17--Wintery temperatures have returned to the area along with 5 inches of wintery precipitation to match! All this fresh snow could lead to some lift and grooming delays first thing this morning, especially at Bear Mountain and Skyeship Base Areas, so if you're planning to make first tracks we suggest starting your day at K-1, Snowshed or Ramshead Lodges.

68 trails? Oh the humanity....

attempted to get to K. State forgot how to clear a road so turned around at Cortina Inn. Rt. 7 was Horrible almost all the way down to the Mendon town hall. Here in the Otter Valley it is another Nor Incher or even less. Enjoy and hope they get those lifts running.
OH the fixed grips aren't having problems.

Wow. Da Bush is reporting only 1-2

Status update for Tue, Jan 24

9:00 AM

A wintry mix of mostly snow is falling & the timing of this storm has skewed from original expectations. Accumulations range from 1" in the base area to about 2" up top of heavy wet snow & ice. If luck is on our side, snow will keep up for the majority of the day today & we could see further accumulation. Expect temperatures to range from the mid 20's to low 30's. Be safe on the commute, as lower elevations are seeing more ice than snow.

Might be 5 inches at the peak but they won't let us up to see. Goggle glaze in effect since 930am. Still light snow mixed in. Winds calm even on Skye Peak.

BUMP!
Down south here in the Berkshires we had a nice burst of 1 to 2 inches of powdery snow this morning and it has now been sleeting sideways since noon, much colder than forecasted. Whats happening up at K?
