No one expressed concern over illegal immigration before Donald Trump?
No one expressed concern over foreign trade before Donald Trump?
No one expressed concern over the Iranian deal before Donald Trump?
No one expressed concern over mismanagement of ISIS before Donald Trump?
Ryan is a Tea Party era new age Republican, yet he sounds as tone deaf here as an entrenched 35 year politician. Ryan completely misses that Trump isn't unique, Trump didn't invent anything, and Trump wasn't the first to hear "the voices". Ryan (and all like him in this regard, which would be all of Congress and nearly all of the press) is the one that didn't hear the voices, and that was what this election was about.

If Trump want Ryan out as speaker it will happen. The Speaker is elected by the house members at the start of the new congressional year. Tradition has it that he would normally be voted in. This year nothing's a sure bet.

They know exactly what the people want, but where it doesn't align with what their donors want, they just ignore it.
