Yep - Another "WOW" performance [two actually] in the books.

In the SL, looked to me like Petra hit the start wand early. I had to go back and look at her start after seeing her 0.75 seconds down at the first split time with no skiing errors that I could see. Didn't matter in the end as Mikaela blew everyone away in both runs. Amazing.

I have to think that last nights SL win, with all that happened to her boyfriend over the weekend in Wengen, has to rank right up there in her mind as one of the most emtoional wins of her career (likely right there with win #1, her 1st Olympic gold medal, her 1st win after her Dad passed away, etc). You could see the emotion in her eyes on the podium and after in interviews and on her social media

and she herself had been sick missing the weekend races and alex had had just a terrible fall. due to the emotion she could barely speak and didn't give her usual post-race interview.

she has always been emotional and had a lot to deal w the last couple years but she when she gets in the starting gate, her focus level is nonpareil. she's like an assassin on the race course. but after the race she telling petra that her recovery from her bobble was incredible. though they compete, the still support each other. it's great watching them chase each other. btw also noticed how big petra is. mikaela looked like a midget next to her.

"Only" a second for Mikaela in today's GS. Great Skiing by Hector. American A J Hurt in 7th. Petra Vlhova injured and out for the rest of the season.

Thanks for the update PJ - sorry to hear about Petra - I'm sure Mikaela is pretty upset as she has such respect for Petra!
