And, she wins another slalom in Flachau Austria !! A night event with her being down a few tenths of a second after the first run [Bernadette Shild from Austria].

Ended up winning by about one second. Bernadette was also pretty far ahead of the rest of the pack. Fourth place was over 2-1/2 seconds back of Mikaela.

Picture of Storrs Hill in Lebanon, NH. Word in NH is that Mikaela learned to ski there when she was a little girl living in Lyme, NH; the next town to the north. She probably skied at Dartmouth Skiway and Whaleback too, the two other local ski areas.

First Bode-best male US ski racer ever, from NH. Now Mikaela-best female US ski racer ever, from NH.

MS third in the downhill today at Cortina. Lindsey Vonn was 2nd. Wiles 7th. So two US women on the podium and 3 in the top 10. Looking good for next month in Korea (at least for the women's team).

Cortina DH#2 on Saturday 1/20: Vonn 1st (by almost a second), Wiles 3rd, MS 7th. So another DH with 2 Americans on the podium and 3 in the top 10 - just a different order than yesterday. MS still has more DH WC points the LV.

Back to back DNFs by Mikaela! SG no big deal, GS she has lost her lead on the season. Plenty of races to go, but pretty unusual for her to DNF.

That said, nice to see Lara Gut back in form in Super G after season ending knee injury last year.

Third DNF with more than a second lead and only three gates to go in the SL today! She would have clinched the SL Crystal Globe for the fifth time with a win today. I haven't screamed that loud at the TV in a long time. Mikaela needs to head back to her sports psychologist and get this straightened out before the big dance in two weeks.

Nearly home court, Killington 2 years in a row, is pressure. She is warming up for the big event. Hopefully she works out the cob webs for some wins.

Haven't seen the birdman in a couple years. Good to see he's still around! I'm assuming that he still stinks?
