Mikaela's first downhill event of the season is tomorrow and Saturday. NBCSN is broadcasting the second race on Saturday at 8 PM. She finished 30th in yesterday's training run. http://medias3.fis-ski.com/pdf/2017/AL/ ... 52RLT2.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Congrats to Mikaela for her victory in the Slalom today in Sestriere, Italy. Her margin of victory over the two runs was 1.09 seconds. http://www.fis-ski.com/alpine-skiing/ev ... ace=86923/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
She finished 6th in the GS yesterday. She still stands at the top of the overall WC leader board, 105 points ahead of Lara Gut. Next event is Downhill in Val d`Isere, France next Saturday.
Heck, she straddled a gate .. for her that's a first.
Not like she got beat with a clean run.
She's still very young and will eclipse Vonn.

She broke a gate, skied over it and still won the race yesterday in Mirabor, Slovenia. See at 2:33 here:
These gates must have been cheap knock-offs from China as several other woman broke gates and skied over them. Only Mikaela did not crash.
She came in fourth in the GS on Saturday. She's now 305 points ahead of Lara Gut on the overall leader board.

Cool. Thanks for posting, Liv4ski! The commentary in German made her runs that much more dramatic! I only understood "Schnell" and "Mikaela Shiffrin" plus a few numbers. Mikaela completed a decent turn with the snapped slalom pole between her skis! Nice!
You gotta like the magnum of champagne (Slovenian bubbly?) spray for the podium winners! That's gotta be a lot of fun.
Mach schnell, Mikaela!!

A tie for 3rd today, which was pretty kick since she was 1.38 sec behind after the 1st run.
