Looks like from 3am till about 9am there are cold enough temps to fire up the guns for at a minimum at test and possibly some actual early snow production. However the water in the ponds is still warm and not ideal. If only the rest of the week were cold enough to make snow. Patience is a virtue..... Right?

No way they make snow tonight. Maybe a test. It's going to be in the 40's and 50's all week.

It's only October 16th and I still think they'll find a way to open before the end of the month.

They could pull a stunt, but to what end? Lots of warmth to come. If I had the captains keys, I wouldn't hit the red button tonight. Even ungroomed whales would melt out.

A snowmaker, Brian Hughes, FB posted that he is setting out to make Promo Snow tonight. He says it's on.

I remain convinced that The Beast of The East will Blow some snow by early morning. Stay tuned.

Snowmakers that I talked to at the Clear on Saturday said they would blow Monday to Tuesday. Surprise Tuesday opening is doubtful but best to be ready. Killington Block party kicked off at 4:20 this afternoon with many skis to be sacrificed to Uller in the bon fire.

Guns are on right now. It has begun.

And according to the guys this is full on production snow. Rime lit up.

Glad we have something new to talk about. The baby boomer thread is god-awful.

I guess the only decision now is where to have breakfast? Keep on blowing in the free world.

So I guess I was spot on last night when I said snow production would begin.

Not sure about production, but certainly public relations mulch is being created. Right now there is still action showing on the north ridge cam. It will all melt pretty fast within a day or two, but ai am glad to see the commitment is intact. Good for everyone.

Still blowing as of 7:00am. Temps will last until maybe 8am or so. Based on the blow over onto Reason, it looks like the upper quarter of Rime was lit up.

The cold temps won't stick around long enough to open but we're ready when they do.
