First powder day (> 6 inches) would've been my 2nd year skiing. I was still trying to figure out the turning thing, I used to like to bomb the runs and do a big hockey stop at the bottom. I knew how to ice skate, and that was the best way for me to come to a stop!

Anyways It was so much different, than the normal surface I had been used to. I was actually able to be a little more in control, although turning was both easier and harder (from a balance perspective) at the same time. If that makes sense. I was already hooked, so it was just a new experience.
When did you start skiing at 7 Springs? I was there a lot in the mid to late 70's and less often in the early 80's. Maybe our ski paths crossed or our drinking paths in the Foggy Goggle?

Sorry FAST not until early 90s.

I was 15 and was at Waterville in NH on a school trip.

About 18" of pow and fell about 30 times. Still had straps on the skies then, so never lost them.

Did not like it on those skinny boards...

Washington's birthday week 1977 (or whatever it was called way back when). Train from NYC to White River Junction. Stayed at the old KVI because they were one of the only hotels with a shuttle to the mountain and it was before I had my license. Had 2 good size dumps that week, probably 18"+ for each one. That was a good week.

I was a newborn so I don't remember exactly. I assume my mother wiped me up, then put powder on me. That was my first powder experience. :barebutt:

1st powder day I was about 10 years old and my Dad took me to Killington, 50 years ago. Snowed all day.

That day is the reason I am here today!

I don't remember my first powder day, but I do remember Oct 25th last year (and also opening day two years ago yesterday). But I do remember being "stuck" at Loon for the "blizzard of 78" (couldn't drive back to Mass/ roads closed), so it may have been then.
