The man responsible for attacking Sen. Rand Paul Friday afternoon was an avowed liberal who frequently fought with his neighbors about politics, according to a report Sunday from The Washington Post.

Local citizens say Rene Boucher, the 59-year-old man who assaulted Paul, was a socialist who frequently fought with neighbors about health care policies and other liberal issues. Boucher and Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, are on the opposite end of the political spectrum, they told reporters.

The incident “has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agendas,” Mr. Baker said in a statement on Monday. “It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial.”

Jeff Jones, a registered nurse who worked with Boucher at the Bowling Green Medical Center, described Paul’s attacker’s politics as “liberal.”

“He was active on social media and said some negative things about the Republican agenda,” Jones said of Boucher, a Bowling Green, Ky., citizen who lives in the same gated community as Paul. “I think it was unfortunate that they lived so close together.”

Boucher is a divorced socialist who is “pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way,” Jim Bullington, a former member of the city commission who knows both men well, told reporters Sunday.

A Facebook account Boucher maintained before the attack contains numerous anti-Republican postings.

Boucher wrote “May Robert Mueller fry Trump’s gonads” in a May post referencing the former FBI director’s investigation into possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian government.
either the guy is a loose cannon that was ready to go off over a "trivial" thing or he let his anger about something else ( politics?) spill over into something "trivial" ... looks like it will now lead to felony charges...

Either way there are multitudes of people (not you) claiming NBC and others are fake news when they don't like the stories yet are more than willing to cite them when it suits their purpose.

well here's the deal w that, when FOX has an anti R/conservative story you can pretty much bet its got some truth to it... same goes when a left leaning outlet has a story that is detrimental to their position....

so if the WaPo or some other left wing source has a story I've already seen or verified elsewhere I'll most certainly use that as a source...

has much less to do with whether or not I "like " it.. and much more to do w how much validity there is to it...like the Koi thing ( fake), or the two scoops of ice cream thing ( ridiculous) or any claim of racism etc...any un-named source also has to be taken with a grain of salt though so many from the CNN and the rest of the MSM are so obviously opinion posed as news that they s/b immediately disregarded until someone credible verifies...

it isn't to say that NBC ( trayvon martin case of editing 911 tapes) doesn't report actual news that is at least somewhat accurate and truthful, it's that they have been caught red-handed more than once editing tape to portray a false narrative...it just kinda puts them in the same class as project veritas...same w pretty much all tv news...

power was out here all last week, I have a generator but the phone line and thus internet were out all week too...tv is satellite so that was good to go ...

good freakin' grief tv news is slow painful boring and outdated by the time it airs in nearly every instance...then there was like 36 hours of non-stop coverage of the NYC incident... :beat :beat :beat :bang :bang :bang

that was the ONLY good thing about satellite internet ( which I still had during irene)
