How many of you singles will partying at the Hamptons, Newport, the Cape, etc.
If you have, when does your season start and end? What kind of share did you get - full, 1/2, 1/4?

I got a half-share somewhere near a beach.
But... who wants to get a VT house next summer? I was talking to someone the other day about how I would rather have a summer house in the mountains that the shore, but the "social infrastructure" just is not there. I think if we can get 50 people up there, maybe that will get the ball rolling. 100 the next year 200 the next, etc. Next thing you know, it will be like Aspen in the summer! :)

Tremblant does more business in the summer than they do in the winter.KBL Ed wrote:I got a half-share somewhere near a beach.

The beaches down here are horribly crowded & expensive. Traffic in & out of Rehoboth is horrible -- I can't be bothered....
Hmmmm - I may have to get the hammock for the hot tub this year & pretend it's a lagoon....

There's a definate reason why I keep my relatives around and not just knock them off for the inheritence.
In-laws, house on Cape Cod about 50 yards from the water and if the fog isn't rolled in a clear view of Martha's Vineyard about 5 miles to the South
My still going strong in their late 80's grandparents, a house up on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire (this is where my ski boat "summers"
Soon to be another addition, my parents just bought a place about 10 minutes from Newport to be close to all their grandkids (Providence and Eastern CT based) and the water when their not down at their place on the West Coast of Florida.
Plus if I don;t wnat to see the relatives and head to the beach, Misquamicut in Rhode Island is about a 45 minute ride down the road past the Casinos

I would suggest the Cape, Jersey beeches have no appeal for me. And to address what sprite said, in the Cape, you could walk miles on a beach without seeing a soul.RustyK wrote:Maybe we could all rent a place in the Cape or Jersey shore?
We could have Bay One BBQ's and go water skiing?
Nahh, We see each other enough during the winter I guess..
From where I am in Hicksville, I can take a bullet at JonesBeach in under a half hour as well. OTOH, I wouldn't be caught dead in any part of the hamptons that would let someone at my income level in becuase anyone that goes to the hamptons at that level is just a pretantious wanna be. And when I am making over a Mil a year, tell me, why do I want to be paying premium to hang out with a bunch of obnoxious assholes that are trying to impress loads of pretentious wanna bees?Atomic1 wrote:From where we are in CT we can be on the beach in R.I. in about an hr. if we get up at 5 A.M to beat the traffic. Then we get a motel room for the nite and were back on the sand for sunrise first thing the next A.M.
We do this a 4-5 times a summer late July and August and it's enough for us.
