They're both within a minute of one another (triple vs quad). That will be "corrected" IF the quad becomes an express detachable!

They both suck, old chairs that were never upgraded. Long entrance ramps make it difficult for either one to load unless you are a veteran plus they are slow when running well. Oops, I forgot the big lift upgrade: they added a midstation to the triple because someone else paid for it. Whoopie.

POWDR has other mountains that get upgrades. Not here. Ownership is making it a personal thing to hold back progress at K, their business demands it but the Cummings must be working off of emotion. Could not get their way when they bought here, so now we get a big F.U. The possibility of a village also comes into play, waiting for years for that to happen yet the customers get crap and will continue to get crap because POWDR thinks lift upgrades are not important.

think the quad is faster but seems more prone to stops. the triple seems to run slower but steadier after the recent upgrade. admittedly the entrance ramps may be long for the inexperienced skiers using the lifts. and while a life long member of the sssq, the recent bike trail development in the snowdon forest has altered the character of those runs and might make that reason moot. need to do more research in that area.

and if it matters, from today's report:
At this time, the Snowdon Triple is the most likely lift to open as scheduled at 9:00 a.m.

so they are down to ONE lift that MIGHT open at 9am? probably more than enough to serve the demand anyway...

Triple is fastest base to peak.
Hope that helps you somehow.

On average, I think the Triple is faster [partly due to the quad loading problems / stoppages]. Also, it now gives you the option to get off it half way and take the poma up.

PS: It is spelled Snowdon.

Back to the quad. I am convinced that the somewhat recently installed cattle chute device at the quad contributes to the loading problems. They should get rid of this and put down the old "LOAD" x 4 plastic strip at the loading line.

The triple chair's mid station ramp is very steep and hard to get off.
The old mid station ramp was much better as it was a gradual ramp drop off. Both chairs are slow.

How many chairs on the triple and how many on the quad?

Both finish at about the same altitude, but the Quad starts lower probably by 2 or 3 chairs or more. They tend to finish relatively close at the top.

Da Pimp stated: "they added a midstation to the triple because someone else paid for it. Whoopie."...actually, the mid station was built there the day they opened the lift back in '76. They manned the midstation for a few weeks, then abandoned it soon thereafter. It remained a "ghost" so to speak for nearly 40 years. Yup, I call that a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT, wouldn't you? (I think the Highline racing folks kinda like it, though)...
