a miracle on the access road … a stunning turnaround. very impressive full-court press by mtn opps last night bringing the hill back to life one more time. a wonderfully groomed superstar at the bell was a magic carpet ride. a groomed ol also garnered a couple repeats. somehow they resuscitated upper skyeburst. upper downdraft skied well. upper east fall sported nice soft bumps and was repeated. not all was roses as needles was wrod and is on life support. lower cascade was very fast. oh and the fiddle was listed as groomed. anyone check that out. another friday is the new saturday turnout. hopefully that eases the mtn's pain a bit. started dripping a bit as i was leaving. hopefully a few passing drops ...

We did not ski Lauchpad. That looks like Nevis walk to me and they had snowmaking going on there today.brownman wrote:turned this around .. you say

I agree with Skiadikt that mountain ops did a very good job at giving us more terrain. We stuck to trails that had either been groomed or had new snow. Nevis walk was closed today with snowmaking going on. Is that the trail you are talking about? That is the one I remember looking like that. I don't remember Launch Pad being so bad yesterday. My ROTD is Upper East Fall with fresh snow and some moguls to play with. I skied it many times. Groomers all skied fast and were very good at the beginning of the day. I stopped skiing when the freezing r*in that was falling was covering my goggles and cleaning them would only last a minute or so.

We didn't think so either but the report had it as groomed. They changed it now.GSKI wrote:NO WAY Fiddle is open and groomed! Its bare!oh and the fiddle was listed as groomed. anyone check that out.

Agree on Upper East Fall was ROTD. Soft new snow, yes some ice but bumps were soft....a couple of repeats here!

actually i didn't say. maybe a bit reading challenged? ... but they did have guns running on nivis and launchpad so assuming they intend to do their best to fix some of that mess.brownman wrote:turned this around .. you say

i was there wednesday & thursday. there had been open rivers in a number of places and they're pretty much fixed. in addition many of the ice floes have been fixed. certainly they couldn't rebuild rome overnight but if you had skied today, you would have seen a big improvement. expected nothing more today than getting my pass scanned and skiing an hour or so, instead skied 20 runs. i call 'em like i see 'em and i called yesterday (thurs) one of the worst (probably the) of the season. today was much better. was it great - no. and yeah as mentioned some things did suck. but there was more good than bad - in fact some really good.
