How bout that Kevin Millar kid? A couple of bumbles during the game, but makes up for it with the game-winning, walk-off, two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth.
I was at the game last night, and Fenway Park f'n erupted when that ball clanged off the monster seats. The lady behind me even flashed her boobs!
And make that 16 straight starts for Bronson without a loss.

Jay Witasick,Mark Wholers,Sterling Hitchcock, Jeff Weaver,Beneitez, plus the second coming of Jeff Nelson Were just some of the Last minute pitchers the Yanks nabbed in July/August to try to win with.borgy wrote:Atomic1 wrote:In these parts we define Bandwagon as> All the Yankee hats and Jackets that show up in July/August after the Yanks have there annual buy-athon where they bring in some better pitchers
Give me a break Atomic--- and the red Sox don't spend $$ and trade in July--- Paleeese!!!
Because they all stunk the Yanks didn't win the World Series those years.
Now help me out here because I can't think of a single pitcher the Sox got in July/August ....NOT A ONE....Last season or the season before!
What do you study player trades and acquisitions?? I don't have time for that crap. Anyway, who the the F cares? All I'm saying is all teams try to improve at the trading deadline. Teams that don't have a chance dump players, teams in contention grab them. If you have the $$ to do it --- go for it. It's all part of baseball. They still have to play the games.Atomic1 wrote:Jay Witasick,Mark Wholers,Sterling Hitchcock, Jeff Weaver,Beneitez, plus the second coming of Jeff Nelson Were just some of the Last minute pitchers the Yanks nabbed in July/August to try to win with.borgy wrote:Atomic1 wrote:In these parts we define Bandwagon as> All the Yankee hats and Jackets that show up in July/August after the Yanks have there annual buy-athon where they bring in some better pitchers

Borgy my point is simple! The Yanks practicaly have a MONOPOLY on baseball the way they throw money around and I don't think it's fair until EVERY TEAM plays on a LEVEL FIELD!
Its called SALARY CAP!
Did I forget to mention Karsay above? The Yanks owe him 5.5 MILLION for this year and a 1.8million buyout for next season!
Did he ever pitch in NY?
So to sum it up ANYTHING CAN BE BOUGHT!!!!!
It is pretty staggering...

Yeah, Shea Hillenbrand for Byung-Hyun Kim. That one's starting to look like a Jeff Bagwell for Larry Andersen trade.borgy wrote:Atomic1 wrote:In these parts we define Bandwagon as> All the Yankee hats and Jackets that show up in July/August after the Yanks have there annual buy-athon where they bring in some better pitchers
