yet another tire question..
the tube my tires had says:
28 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/8
the guy sold me a different size-tube but said it would work..
here's what he sold me:
27 x 1 1/8 x 1/4
it's clear that the tube he sold me is too big for the rim.. but he's right, i can stuff that tube in there ok. it just bunches up in one part.. and if i hold the wheel up, it rolls until the bunched up part is on the bottom.
i feel like i got ripped off and have yet another bike problem. but hopefully someone here knows better..
thanks.

have you ever popped a tire tube?
because i just did..
at about 90PSI (the tire says to inflate 85-115PSI) the tube actually pushed the tire over the rim and and soon as it got there it popped like a balloon..
made a really loud noise, too.. there's ringing in my ears right now..
i'm ready to give up..
i want to eat a pound of macaroni
with about two pounds of pot roast.
a case of beer would be good, too.

Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

Re: yet another tire question..
Here is a little tip when installing a new tube. You can inflate the tube very slightly, just enough to make it so that the tube becomes round but not to much to make the rubber begin to expand. This will help when you go to install the tube on the rim and under the tire.pizzamoose wrote:the tube my tires had says:

That's a stupid ass thing to say, only if its a schwinn bought within the last few years.... Both of mine were built before they sold out and they're great bikes, one of them was even make in the same factory as yetis. (my straight 6 - i'm sure you know what one of those are right). My other rocket 88 will ride circles around what ever bike you're on all day long - even though it IS a pig - for what it is.SkiDork wrote:Schwinn
But if you want to talk light weight, try and beat my ibis single speed with its steel frame. I think i'm going to be getting a Bianchi B.A.S.S or S.A.S.S for when we move to SLO this summer.
not sure about the "stupid ass" part, but I loved my Sting Ray. Best bike I ever had.mogulmouse wrote:That's a stupid ass thing to say, only if its a schwinn bought within the last few years....
