NEW YORK -- Fans in Washington and Houston might be excited, but the rest of the country is reacting to the World Series with a collective yawn.

Through the first five games, the World Series averaged 11.6 million viewers, the Nielsen company said. That puts it on pace to be the least-watched Fall Classic ever, although ratings tend to pick up when a series reaches a sixth or deciding seventh game.

The previous low point came in 2012, when an average of 12.64 million viewers watched the San Francisco Giants complete a four-game sweep over the Detroit Tigers.

it's a big deal to the people who broadcast it...as always yer a dimwitted homer...yer team can't even put together two winning seasons in a row...some champions...and of course the yankees are always on your mind...50 years of butthurt will do that to you I guess...

like most people I hardly care who wins...I'll check the scores in the morning like I did for the rest of the entire post season...
