That fracture is huge. Was this from the second day, when they blasted it? The news pics from the first day did not show it being that wide.

Last picture said wish you were here.
My question is why am I not there?
Because I'm stuck here?

Great shots for sure....

great pix. pix don't show steep it really is. interestingly looking at the trail sign for king cornice, it's only rated a blue/black, yet depending on the snow it's a 5-10ft drop off the cornice into a run steeper than upper o at k.

your trek across the east wall brings memories of a similar trek we had a few years ago on a pow day. that scar on palli face is obviously after the 2nd day's blasting.

obviously not as sad as the tragedy, but it is sad to see all that snow blown down the hill.

Dropping into Ovation headwall late season this year was easily a 10-15 foot drop just to avoid the rock outcroppings that stretched across most of the top. There was one spot you could drop in, just skiers left of all the scrub trees on skiers right, and you had to land it in firm moguls...

Definitely not a blue/black rating...

I prolly shouldn't be giving this away but....

BEST entrance to O headwall is trees skiers right.
